Lamb Cupcakery @ MBLM

Lamb Cupcakery has been creating sweet experiences for those working around Marina Bay and one day the girlfriend insisted I gave them a try - so I did, trudging to MBLM over lunch and sussing out Lamb. The mascot is cute as a button, the interior is done up to look almost like a nursery - and even the box has little lambs running all over them.

Service was not particularly as sweet and cute as they set out to be, with a midlde aged worker placing my chosen flavours into a box - almost detached if I had to say so.

Dark Chocolate 
Classic dark chocolate cupcake with a whipped Belgium dark chocolate frosting topped with chocolate sprinkles

Classic red velvet cupcake with a madagascar bourbon vanilla cream cheese frosting coated with red velvet crumbs and topped with a chocolate heart

Madagascar bourbon vanilla cupcake with a fresh strawberry studded buttercream sprinkled with pastel pink sequins

The flavours are subdued despite their appearances, so light that even the buttercream tastes just like whipped cream. I have been spoilt rotten by Plain Vanilla so these are nice to have if I cannot get my PV fixes, otherwise, not worth the journey to central for this.

$3.80 a piece, daily specials go for an additional 50 cents.

Baba Steven or Chef Steven is endearingly known as has been whipping up peranakan feasts from his Bukit Batok Home since he retired. We booked a table of 8 for a $450 dinner comprising of 8 dishes. Paradise Teochew @ Scotts Square

Taste Paradise and Paradise Teochew are the two restaurants under Paradise Group with these newly launched menus. The featured menu goes for a tune of $38++, there is an option for wine pairing at a top up of $38++ as well. Ole Ole Kueh @ Parkway Parade

Food kiosks always excite me and more so when they pedal peranakan kuehs. So this was the story behind Ole Ole Kueh - perfectly distracting when waiting for transport at Parkway Parade methinks. Having been won over by Milk Moon's Pulut Serunding, any chance at these deconstructed lempur udangs, I leap at it. This version was draped in coconut, chicken floss and shrimp and the glutinous rice balls were just oddly half as satisfying. Probably the savoury part was not nailed well. Kueh Cara is a dense pandan nonya treat, uncommon actually though it was probably made from the same mould as the kueh bahilu. Kueh kosui at Ole Ole's is as per their other kuehs, really dense. I prefer them lighter actually. Moving onto the savoury snacks, epok epok is a must every time I spy it - just like curry puffs.
