My experiences with Tien Court have been mixed so far - save for the super outstanding media session. The ala carte options were less than outstanding but I gave their dimsum another go, anyhow! The dimsum menu is refreshed on a monthly basis so eat it while you can - some may reprise months later but you never quite know! I paid them two visits across two months and each visit saw a different appetizer. These beancurd noodles were mega delicious - mildly pickled and slurpworthy! The other appetizer proved very easy to replicate at home - cucumbers and garlic!  Steamed Prawn Dumpling with Bamboo Shoots ($6.30) Bamboo shoots gave this extra crunch which was a lovely addition to the otherwise common har gow. Having western brunches too often, I seek my Asian roots now and then. Xin Cuisine was running a promotion with Eatigo for discounted meals at their off peak timings and budget hunter me decided to give this place a go after attempting their mooncakes and having more than one memorably good dinners there. On top of their ala carte menu, there is a dim sum buffet promotion on going. $39.90 for freeflow dimsum! Shrimp Dumpling ($6) Yumcha staples with the skin tearing upon lifting - plus, it was a tad salty. Not my idea of culinary skill here. Pork Dumpling ($6) The baby abalone adornment could have justified the price tag but this was really just marginally better than the shrimp dumpling. Minced Pork and Century Egg Porridge ($5) Generous on salt once again, this salty congee was otherwise hearty breakfast for the hungry tum. It definitely did not take long before we booked ourselves a yum cha session with a table full of likeminded friends for a lovely Sunday pig out session. It baffles the Hongkonger husband how Singaporeans hardly have time to enjoy a meal on a Sunday no less - and whilst his childhood days are spent filled with these memories, mine were possibly a far cry spent over a harried lunch somewhere after church. The inviting stairway of Summer Pavilion, regardless day or night still enchants. Truth be told, the lights lining the stairway were part of my house goals! Kitchen ware goals all before me. We all wish we owned just one piece from this entire collection. Yam chips dished out as appetizers, a lovely respite from the peanuts, beancurd cubes and pickled vegetables.
