Shepherd's Pie and Lasagne delivered in 1 hour!

Image
~Mediadrop~ Shepherd's Pie is one of the most underrated party food dishes ever - people assume it is easy to make and almost impossible to go wrong. The truth is, while it is easy to make, it is best eaten piping hot and unless I'm the host and only preparing it just before it is consumed, I would prefer to just order, sit back, relax and wait for my order to arrive!    Ever been in a situation where everyone wants a quick fix for dinner and fastfood is not an option but you want to please everyone? I find myself in this situation one time too many because I have diners from different age groups to please, the kid, the husband and the parents. Shepherd’s pie is one of the family’s favourite dishes to cook and we have it every now and then. Have you  had a macaroni and cheese and shepherd’s pie in a single dish? The folks at Shepherdspie.com clearly knew this was lacking and gave us the answer in an all in one dish - Mac ‘n’ Cheese Black Pepper Beef Shepherd’s Pie (...

Famous Kitchen Delivers!

Image
~Mediadrop~ Covid-19 definitely changed the food and beverage industry drastically and food deliveries have been the way to go since Circuit Breaker started. I was sent this delivery by the kind folks from Famous Kitchen and they were served piping hot! Major brownie points there. Deep Fried Pork Belly with Fermented Beancurd ($20) Marinated with nam yu, these deep fried pork belly cubes make a tasty snack. Great with beer! Roasted Irish "Silver Hill" Duck ($78) Roasted ducks are my weakness and these travelled well, the meat was still very tender and juicy. Traditional Fish Head Curry ($65) The portions are big for a whole fish head curry that comes with a medley of vegetables. Think brinjal, carrots, cabbage and beancurd skins. I found the gravy a tad sweet though. The generous portion makes this a super value for money dish! Signature Yellow Chives Char Kuay Teow ($36)  The second dish that travelled so well, I love the char and smokeyness of the dish. Who'd think that...

Satisfy your sushi cravings with Sushidelivery.sg!

Image
~Product Feature~ This Covid-19 virus definitely fueled by online purchases, from groceries to meals even. So much so, with this working from home arrangement, the longest I've clocked without stepping out of the house is a grand total of 5 days. The convenience of food deliveries too, makes this cooped up life a tad more bearable. Thanks to sushidelivery.sg, I satisfied my sushi craving within 45 minutes. With free delivery for purchases above $60 and a flat fee of $5.90 for purchases lower than $60, the price point is reasonable. The kind folks sent this Moriawase Sushi Party Set ($49.90) over and this is perfect for sharing with 4-5 foodies. I love that their set came with enough soy sauce and wasabi packets - major grouse when I run out of either when tucking into my sushi! My delivery came with the sushi sealed, chopsticks, soy sauce and wasabi packets all bundled up. The selection of maki and sushi rolls. The threenager had his fair share of non-raw sushi, so that keeps every...

VIOS by Blu Kouzina is on the Deliveroo bandwagon!

Image
~Invited Session~ I'm sure by now you'd know how much I love living the lazy life - the best scenario is having all my necessities delivered to my door step without lifting a finger more even. VIOS by Blu Kouzina launches a Greek Grain Bowl menu to celebrate their launch on Deliveroo. Available to residents in Katong, this concept puts together delicious customizable bowls with familiar middle eastern favourites to the likes of hummus, meatballs, grilled eggplant, tzatziki, spicy harissa dip and even grilled lamb! My lunch delivery looking less than spectacular probably from the rocky journey but I am not complaining. They smelt so good! Supagreens, Basmati White Rice, 3 Bean Dip, Mushrooms, Zucchini, Eggplant, Indian Inspired Dal, Arvo Sauce, Flax Seeds, Pine Nuts The supagreens comprised of a m ix of shaved broccoli, brussels sprouts, white cabbage which was the ultimate nutritious vegetable mix for me. I love how this was super wholesome and the dips gave it extra flavour. ...

Honestbee Delivery: Empress Place Beef Noodle

Image
Food deliveries are my lifesavers on rainy days, lazy days and any other day I feel I deserve a break and food sent to my doorstep would just make it a whole lot better. With the stiff competition these days, vendors like Honestbee have also branched into food delivery for the share of the fat pie. Empress Place Beef Noodle was the only option next to JK Don for Asian and we were all keen to see how soup would survive a delivery, arrive piping hot and still be as comforting as if I were to dine in at the coffee shop. To be fair, I've only known Hock Lam Beef Noodle as THE beef noodle. Beef Char Kuay Teow ($7.80) I see no difference between fried beef kuay teow and this though it was clearly already missing out on wok hei and my food was served hardly piping hot and kuay teow was already soggy. Beef Kuay Teow Dry ($9.80) We were all wondering if dry beef kuay teow meant laksa noodles with a starchy sauce over it but it turned out similar to their beef kuay teow soup with alot les...

UberEats: Burnt Ends to my doorstep!

Image
Food delivery service has upped its stakes with a brand new player in the market - UberEats. Who'd have thought things could get even more complicated? I love my role as a consumer. $15 off my first order - sweet. Expands my choice of food choices - so sweet. I get to track my order right down to the minute it leaves the kitchen and arrives at my doorstep - sugar sweet. Food is awesome - SOLD. By no means this is a paid entry, advertorial or anything like that. I'm sharing from a point of view of a gian png consumer who made the husband utilise his share of the discount for two meals of exactly the choices in a span of two days. The bummer bit would still be the timing that some kitchens are open and I am literally by my phone hoping I don't miss the opening time. Sangar Burger ($20) By right, I should have booked myself a visit at Burnt Ends at one of their limited seats for a proper seat down meal granted this is ranked 13th in Asia's Top Restaurants - it has to be ...

Deliveroo: My Pizza - Tropical Rainforest

Image
Since my first deliveroo order, I have not looked back and this time round I tested the service out in the East with completely different set of vendors to select from. Order placed in the afternoon for dinner at 7pm, my order arrived promptly at 6:53pm. Thank you for surpassing expectations once again, Deliveroo. At this rate, I am likely to get so pampered and base Deliveroo as the benchmark for all food deliveries in future. I took a gamble with My Pizza - Tropical Rainforest, one of those listed without a proper website or even store that I remember seeing at all. Sambal Ikan Bilis ($6.90) Sambal sauce, sambal ikan bilis, mozzarella cheese  Meaty Pizza ($6.90) Beef salami, lean ground beef, mozzarella and cheddar cheese Superoni ($6.90) Pepperoni, Mozzarella 6 inches each, perfect for us who wants a taste of as many flavours as possible. These are probably the size of personal pan pizzas and they were delivered piping hot. Of the three flavours, I leaned towards Sambal Ikan Bili...

Muchachos Delivery by Deliveroo

Image
Upfront, this is hardly an advertorial because $20 was waived from my bill which I would gladly pay still. And did, the second time round. Order placed: 18:49 Order delivered: 19:11 Delivered in 22 minutes flat. And it was because I was in the restroom which resulted in frantic ringing of the bell and my phone before it became clear to me it was my order at the door. Very impressive delivery service. California Burrito ($13.50) Steak, fries I call this the champ's version of dinner, with just manfood of excellently done tender steak cubes and fries stuffed into a single fat burrito. That amount of cheese was insane as well but it made two bellies very very very happy. Vegetariano Taco ($5) Habenero dressing, cheese (+$0.50) Chicken Taco ($5.50) Verde salsa, cheese (+$0.50) I missed ordering these tacos the last in store visit and with my original order of fish taco sold out, I opted for the vegetarian and cheese. Both came with double taco shells which added to the thickness o...
