Bumbu Bali @ Nusa Dua, Bali

I've actually walked past Bumbi Bali a couple of times in Ubud but schedule would have it that there was usually not enough time to include it. This visit, we specially paid Nusa Dua a visit just for Bumbu and shame on the traffic, it took us an hour an a half to reach! Dining is done alfresco style with koi in ponds and traditional music playing on the background. The colours of the dishes at every meal do such a great job whetting the appetite, I have to give them credit for putting together such a visually attractive spread. Noote, those lemongrass stalks and chillies are only for display, much to my disappointment. Biku @ Seminyak, Bali

Somewhere in my mind, a relaxing holiday typically includes plenty of nua-ing and a luxurious high tea. While luxurious probably did not fit the bill but Biku was listed on so many guides as the must go for traditional high tea, and we did (together with throngs of other tourists). There are so many different areas to dine and one can move from dining in a cushy living room... To a more rustic backyard. The children's colouring pieces caught my eye. And knick knacks on sale. Finally, something of relevance for the afternoon. We got our seats and were treated to a round of napkins.
