Full of Luck Restaurant @ Holland Village

Image
~Invited Session~ Full of Luck Restaurant, the casual arm of Li Bai, is the place to go if comfort food and drinks are on the agenda. Prices are friendly and whilst there is an association with Li Bai, Full of Luck promises a completely different experience altogether. Spot those words of advice on the bar ceiling. Private dining room for cosy gatherings! Crabmeat Chilli Cheese Tart with Pomelo ($10, 3 pieces) Are we not done with cheese tarts, yet? I'm glad the team took the plunge with these hot sellers, melty cream cheese tarts topped with chilli crab sauce and pomelo. Top marks for creativity and execution, arguably the better cheese tarts around! Chef's Signature Honey Glazed Char Siew ($16) A minimum 45 minute wait is necessary if orders are made at the restaurant hence keen diners should make their pre orders via chope when making reservations too. This signature has a glistened sugary shell, beyond the first crunch is a sinewy slice of honey roast pork. The ratio of fat

Plum and Toro @ Intercontinental Robertson Quay

Image
Plum and Toro at Intercontinental Robertson Quay is both a bar and restaurant, giving diners more to choose from the hotel's A list of dining tenants. We scored these cushion seats in a cosy corner with full view of the restaurant. Counter seats are also available. With every lunch set ordered, there's an appetizer of tomato salad. Refreshing and I particularly loved the piquant dressing.   Mekajiki Sando ($24) Crispy fish breaded swordfish sandwich with yellow tobikko tartare sauce served with seaweed fries This is filet o fish gone upscale with a thicker patty and that was so satisfying. The sauce that came with it was particularly wicked too - it was wasabi mayo with the right punch. So satisfying and I would order this again! Wagyu Truffle Don ($40) Grilled wagyu beef kiriotoshi served with onsen egg on rice and topped with fresh truffle slices Melt in the mouth thinly sliced wagyu beef with those freshly shaved truffles was the highlight of this dish though I was not a

Uma Uma Ramen @ Millenia Walk

Image
Uma Uma Ramen Millenia Walk is there second outlet and I'm keen to see how standards have kept up. Yaki Chasiu ($8) I love my char siew but the chinese version always trumps and it could be the cut of pork used as well. The japanese versions are usually pork belly and would be better classified as roasted pork belly. These are pretty alright, nothing memorable. Pork Belly Kushikatsu ($4) Scallop Kushikatsu ($5) The kushikatsus stood out more actually and pork belly was a mouthful of melt in the mouth fats and meat. Spicy Char Siu Bun ($3) I actually liked this spicy char siew better than the char siew slices proper. My only grouse is - why mince it! Chicken Karaage ($8) Fried chicken is always a great idea with beer and even ramen. Garlic Ramen ($16) Chasiu, garlic oil, white onion, beansprouts, fried shallots, egg Garlic makes everything taste better and for this, the ramen broth was rich, robust and very tasty. Tan Tan Men ($16) Sesame base, minced pork, chilli oil, white onion

Live Seafood Market @ Emporium Shokuhin

Image
~Invited Session~ Emporium Shokuhin welcomes the 10th restaurant - Live Seafood Market Dining, where diners can have their seafood fresh from the tanks and enjoyed zichar style without the heat and chaos of an eating house. What's more? Prices are kept the same for seafood in the same tank and you get to pick exactly which fish or crab suits your meal better. The range comprises not just of seafood but also vegetables and also caviar, parma ham and cured meats. A bar is also available for those seeking a happy hour drink and some tapas. Spied a crab trying to make an escape! Simple instructions how to order your meal at this pseudo zichar place. Beers on the tap for happy hour always seem to go very well with zichar. Crispy Cereal Egg Floss Calamari ($15) was an addictive snack with enough crispy cereal, chilli padi and floss to coat the battered calamari generously. Purple Sweet Potatoe s that made the pre-dinner snacking healthier than intended. Sri Lankan Crab ($59/pc, app
